Served by the newly launched Kota Kinabalu International Airport, you can fly into the city from various international destinations like Singapore, Japan and neighboring countries. Otherwise you can also fly into Kota Kinabablu through domestic towns like Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Penang in West Malaysia. The airport serves all flights coming in and out of Sabah and connects them to other rural areas as well. As Kota Kinabalu is located at the further end of Sabah, it is a bit difficult to get here on land although you can do so through nearby towns as well as through Sarawak but might take a long time which can be taxing as well as tiring. Therefore, you are advised to come here by air instead.
